May 3rd Hurtigruten
All decked down and safe onboard the MS Richard With and, through ‘foul means or fair’, we’ve managed to get internet access for the week and so now we’re back to business as usual! 😊
Our first stop was to a very small fishing port called Stamsund, on the Lofoten Islands. It almost turned out to be our last stop as well! Due to a bit of a ‘misunderstanding’ before we disembarked we were a bit late in returning, and not to the amusement of the crew either! After a deserved and suitable bollocking we were suitably admonished!
The ‘theme’ with the ship over the next week is that there’s going to be many, but generally short, stops going up to the far north and then back down south to Trondheim, at least for us anyway. These ferry/ cruises started life delivering mail and goods and have just developed into the services used today hence the many stops.
Although we’ve not been on the boat for long it’s been interesting to see how frequently the weather changes up this far, maybe it should be called the Melbourne of the North! 🌞☔️💨☃️

Great weather conditions, all these were taken just either side of midnight |
