Jun 12th - Nimes to Montpellier
Travel day
Only a short train journey today to our new destination, Montpellier, famous for……….well, not a lot really!
I knew of its really nice ‘Vieux Ville’, the ‘Old Town’, but apart from that not much else. However, first impressions, before getting to our accommodation in the old town, were positive. With its clean, bright, wide boulevards, and some lovely ‘Paris’ looking architecture, we were sure that this had the ‘this is going to be nice’ feel about it.
Once we’d checked-in we were out pretty quickly exploring the local neighbourhood and ‘Old Town’ and at the same time confirming our first impressions. With a myriad of laneways and alleys, tiny little ’squares’ full of restaurants and bars, and with more than its fair share of quirky ‘stuff’, this really is a nice place to spend a few days!

They seem to 'celebrate' bikes, what about pens???
ReplyDeleteYes, and it wouldn’t be a comfortable ride on the cobblestones!! Lots of lovely nooks and crannies to explore here but nothing that I would say you had to see.
