Jul 13th - Winchcombe to Broadway

Off to Broadway today, a similar distance to yesterday but with a fair bit of difference in scenery.

Still really enjoyable but it was mainly farmland today and with the addition of a couple of really delightful villages on the way.

The two villages that we passed through, Stanway and Stanton, must be in the running for the most beautiful in the area.  Both only consisting of a few streets each, every house has been built with the local yellow sandstone, and they look magnificent.

Arriving in Broadway this afternoon was a little bit of an anti-climax after the two villages earlier on in the day.  We’d been advised that Broadway was pretty ‘speccy’, and to be fair most of the high street buildings are, but the amount of traffic, both cars and people was horrible.  It’s also more ‘town-like’ in size as well, and with the addition of smaller ‘suburb’ type areas around the centre of town it just loses any sense of ‘charm’.
